BLOCK MAGAZINE  |  SAN FRANCISCO STREET MANUAL
The goal of this project was to develope a magazine that highlighted a different San Francisco neighborhood each month. The first issue would have a focus on the Mission District and would set the tone for the remaining issues of the magazine. The magazine title, “Block Magazine,” is derived from the familiar term one would use to describe their neighborhood or street. The overall magazine is meant to serve as a local street manual and offer updates for shopping, food, night life and art.

The theme of the magazine was to be the opposite of a tourist magazine and provide information from a locals’ point of view. It was aimed to be a utility for somebody that had recently moved to the neighborhood and mainly targeted at the creative class, which are men and women who work in the creative industry. The magazine features articles, ads and a data spread focusing on Mission District news, events and people.
